Money Milestone For Rooney

The 2025 season of harness racing at Hiawatha Horse Park, in Sarnia, kicked off on Saturday, May 3 and it didn't take long for driver Garrett Rooney to make an impact.

With his win aboard Kenogami Rose in the second race, Rooney surpassed the $10 million mark in driving earnings. That win was the first of four on the nine-dash card for Rooney, who also connected with Mostly Dali, Champagne Bettina and Sir A.

The top dash-winning and money-winning driver at The Raceway, in 2024, was also tops at Dresden, Leamington and Sarnia. Rooney posted career best numbers in 2024 with 293 wins and almost $1.5M earned. The Iona, Ont. horseman boasts 1,872 career victories along with $10 million in purses.
